Meteor F.8 VZ485 damaged in the air, landed at Linton on Ouse airfield.

On 31st August 1952 the hood of this 92 Squadron aircraft disintergrated in the air during a "bat and terrier" practice exercise and while flying at 470 knots and at 1,000 feet above the ground. The hood then struck and damaged the airframe. Despite the damage the pilot went on to land normally at Linton on Ouse. A Cat.3R damage assessment was made but it took until February 1953 for it to made servicable by 60 M.U.. the hood flew off.
