On 2nd December 1952 this aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it. At the time it was a No.608 Squadron aircraft and was based at Thornaby so any damage assessment was probably made there but how it came to require a repair is not yet clear and this may not have been down to any flying related incident.
The damage assessment was upgraded to Re-Cat.4R and was sent to Brookland's Aviation Ltd at Sywell on 26th January 1953 for a repair in works.
