This aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it on 4th April 1952 and at the time it was on charge with No.215 Advanced Flying School who was based at Finningley. The No.60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2039) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable. For this aircraft it states that it was ready during the month of June 1952 and they repaired it at Finningley. How it came to require a repair is not yet clear and this may not have been down to any flying related incident.
