Meteor F.4 VT145 near Finningley airfield.

On 12th May 1952 this 215 Advanced Flying School was flown on a training exercise that included single engine flying training. The aircraft unfortunately crashed while on the approach to land at Finningley whilst flying on one engine with the airbrakes having been left extended.

On 30th April 1952 the aircraft overshot on landing at Finningley airfield in a fifty degree crosswind but must have escaped damage for it it have been flying again so soon after. The pilot was P/O Smalley.
