On 9th June 1952 this No.228 Operational Conversion Unit aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it. The 60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2039) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable. For this aircraft it states that it was ready during the month of October 1952 and they repaired it at Leeming where No.228 Operational Conversion Unit was based. How it came to require a repair is not yet clear and this may not have been down to any flying related incident.
