On 11th January 1952 this aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it. At the time Mosquito RL181 was on charge with No.228 Operational Conversion Unit and based at Leeming. The 60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2039) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable. For this aircraft it states that it was ready during the month of May 1952 and they repaired it at Leeming. How it came to require a repair is not yet clear and this may not have been down to any flying related incident.
