I have located very basic details surrounding this incident, in that on 3rd April 1952 an unidentified Meteor T.7 from Finningley made a landing at Full Sutton airfield but overshot and damaged the undercarriage. The aircraft appears to been crewed by two and was probably a 215 Advanced Flying School aircraft which was the resident unit at Finningley at that time. Having said that, their record book lists all their damaged aircraft and this incident is not mentioned.
This incident may relate to how Meteor F.4 VT219 came to receive damage. On 4th April 1952 (the day after the incident at Full Sutton) a Cat.3R damage assessment was made against VT219 but how this damage was caused is not clear. VT219 was repaired on site and returned to the unit in June 1952.
