On 15th February 1952 this Lancashire Aircraft Corporation Ltd. aircraft and was bound for Yeadon airfield but the pilot became lost owing to poor visibility. The aircraft was seen circling the Wakefield area for around thirty minutes before it descended and, after clearing the roofs of houses on College Grove, Eastmoor Road and Westfield View, the pilot land in a field just west of and ajoining Pinderfields Hospital. The aircraft must have landed with the wheels down and appears to have been undamaged. The pilot was taken to the hospital for a very "Yorkshire" way of dealing with such events, and given a cup of tea. The identity of this aircraft is unknown. Over the course of the post-war years the company owned some nineteen Dragon Rapides.
