The 60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2039) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable. For this aircraft it states Meteor WF839 was ready during the month of November 1951 and they repaired it at Leeming. There is probably an error in this serial number though as WF839 went to the MEAF in Malta in August 1951. It seems unlikely to have been in Yorkshire presumably around the same time when an initial damage assessment must have been made for it to have been servicable in November of the same year. How it came to require a repair is not yet clear and this may not have been down to any flying related incident.
