The Central Gunnery School record book (AIR29/2314) gives very basic information that on 8th December 1951 this aircraft received damage during a bird strike on take off. Given the unit was based at Leconfield it probably occurred while taking off there. An engine nacelle and the mainplane received minor damage but despite the damage the pilot landed normally.
