On 10th July 1951 the pilot of this 66 Squadron aircraft suffered a problem with the starboard undercarriage after taking off in that it would not retract. Later, on his approach to land the port undercarriage leg would not lower so he then went on to land at Linton on Ouse airfield but attempted to keep the weight on the starboard side. The aircraft eventually would then have settled on the port wing but the pilot lost control and it collided with an old air raid shelter, possibly groundlooping in the process. The undercarriage issue was caused by a servicing fault.
Pilot - F/O Leslie Charles Hayward RAF (1804987).
