On 27th November 1951 this 66 Squadron aircraft suffered an engine fire and then engine failure on take off from Linton on Ouse airfield. The pilot managed to get the aircraft into the air but a strong cross wind on the runway in use there saw him divert to nearby Rufforth airfield and make a landing there. It suffered damage to the engine nacelle.
