Meteor F.8 WA792 damaged in the air, (probably) landed at Linton on Ouse airfield.

On 23rd February 1951 this aircraft received a Cat.4R damage assessment following skin wrinkling during a flight. The aircraft was on charge with 66 Squadron at the time, they were based at Linton on Ouse and the aircraft probably landed there. The aircraft was collected by 32 MU from St.Athan on 30th March 1951 and it was taken for a repair in a works factory.

This damage probably occurred during a simulated interception made by several aircraft of 66 Squadron on 22nd February 1951 with various other squadrons participating in conjunction with the Ground Control Interception facility at Patrington.
