On 21st August 1951 this aircraft lost turbine blades inside of the engines on take off from either Driffield or Carnaby airfield. The pilot then landed at Carnaby airfield. At the time the aircraft was on charge with No.203 Advanced Flying School and based at Driffield. The 60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2039) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable. For this aircraft it states that it was ready during the month of September 1951 and they repaired it at Carnaby.
