The 60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2039) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable. For this aircraft it states that it was ready during the month of June 1951 and they repaired it at Driffield. At the time Vampire WA231 was on charge with No.203 Advanced Flying School and based at Driffield. It presumably had a damage assessment made against it in early 1951 or late 1950 but when this was is not known. How it came to require a repair is not yet clear and this may not have been down to any flying related incident.
