On an unknown date during December 1951 this 616 Squadron pilot misjudged his approach to land at Finningley airfield and undershot into a field near the airfield. The aircraft was damaged.
Pilot - P/O Geoffrey Edwin Higginbottom RAF (2448887).
This pilot had only joined at 616 Squadron during the previous month. He would later serve with 501 Squadron and published the book "How Meteors Hit The Ground" under the name Geoffrey Edwin Higges.
