On 25th April 1951 this aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it. At the time Meteor VW299 was on charge with No.203 Advanced Flying School and based at Driffield. The 60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2039) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable. For this aircraft it states that it was ready during the month of July 1951 and they repaired it at Driffield. How it came to require a repair is not yet clear and this may not have been down to any flying related incident.
