Meteor F.4 VT115 damaged in the air, (probably) landed at Linton on Ouse airfield?

On 3rd October 1951 this 616 Squadron aircraft suffered a turbine blade fracture which damaged the wing spar. Whether this occurred in the air or on the ground is not known. The unit was based at Finningley but between 28th September 1951 and 8th October 1951 the squadron took part in Operation Pinnacle and was detached to Linton on Ouse airfield for this. This was a large scale training exercise. Where this aircraft later landed is not known, it may have been at Linton on Ouse, or at an airfield nearer to where the failure occurred. On 3rd October 1951 the squadron took part in phase three of the exercise and it seems likely that the damage happened during this. A Cat.4R damage assessment was later made and it was dispatched to Westland's at Yeovil for a repair in works later in the month.
