On 25th May 1951 this No.101 Flying Refresher School aircraft was being flown on a training exercise with part of the exercise including the instructor demonstrating a precautionary landing on the airfield at Finningley. While the aircraft was making an approach to land at Finningley airfield and as it neared the airfield boundary a downdraft caused it to loose height. Despite the instructor applying more power he could not prevent it striking the top of the boundary hedge. It was repaired on site by 60 MU and was servicable in July 1951.
