On 10th December 1951 this 228 Operational Conversion Unit aircraft was taxied into by Mosquito RL121 at Leeming airfield while the pilot was awaiting clearance to take off for a night training flight. The nose of this aircraft was extensively damaged. The damage was initially assessed as being Cat.4/FA but this was upgraded to Re-Cat.5 on 25th January 1952 and it was struck off charge.
