On 25th January 1951 this No.228 Operational Conversion Unit aircraft suffered the port engine cut out on take off from Leeming airfield. In an attempt to stop the aircraft the pilot raised the undercarriage but it skidded off the runway into a field. The aircraft was not repaired after this incident and was struck off charge.
