On 1st December 1951 this No.228 Operational Conversion Unit aircraft suffered both engines cut out on take off at Leeming airfield. The pilot attempted to stop the aircraft on the remaining runway but it overran the airfield into overshoot area and sustained damage. The damage was assessed and the aircraft was deemed beyond repair.
