On 15th November 1951 this No.101 Flying Refresher School aircraft was taking off at Finningley airfield and had just become airborne when it sank back toward the runway. The partly retracted undercarriage hit the ground which damaged it. The pilot managed to remain in the air but later when he then made a landing at Finningley the starboard undercarriage leg would not lock down. It then subsequently collapsed on landing which damaged the starboard mainplane and propeller.
