On 9th April 1951 this No.101 Flying Refresher School aircraft landed at Finningley airfield in a strong gusty wind. While taxying back to a dispersal point the aircraft started to swing, the pilot attempted to check the swing by using increasing power on one engine and applying the brake to the opposite wheel but the tail lifted into the air and then dropped back to the ground. The tail wheel strut was damaged.
