The only information in respect of this incident is taken from the unit records which offer clues but very little concrete information. On an unknown date during the last week of June 1951 this unidentified 228 Operational Conversion Unit aircraft was being taxied around Leeming airfield by a night fighter trainee pilot when it collided with a stationary aircraft. The wing tip of the stationary aircraft was damaged.
