On 23rd August 1951 this aircraft had a Cat.3R/FA damage assessment made against it and at that time it was on charge with with No.228 Operational Conversion Unit and based at Leeming. The 60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2039) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable. For this aircraft it states that it was ready during the month of October 1951 and they repaired it at Leeming. How it came to require a repair is not yet clear but it does seem to be damage sustained as the result of a flying accident.
