On 6th February 1951 two Flying Refresher School Harvards were standing at marshalling points opposite each other and at each side of the runway in use awaiting a signal to move forward. Both students then misinterpreted lamp signals and taxied onto the runway at the same time, they attempted to brake but ice on the runway saw them skid and collide with each other.
