Unidentified Meteor T.7 at Driffield airfield.

On 14th February 1951 this 203 Advanced Flying School aircraft was being deliberately flown in bad weather on a circuits and landings exercise when the aircraft undershot by fifteen yards and struck a runway marker resulting in minor damage to the aircraft. This was the second aircraft to do exactly the same on this date.

Meteor VW479 had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it on 15th February 1951, the aircraft was a 203 AFS aircraft at the time who were based at Driffield. This could relate to one of the two unidentifid Meteors damaged at Driffield on this date. VW479 was later re-assessed as Re.Cat.4R on 15th March 1951 and was sent for repair in a works factory.
