Meteor T.7 WA632 (probably) at Driffield airfield.

On 13th November 1950 this No.203 Advanced Flying School aircraft was landed with the undercarriage retracted accidentally following a training flight. The instructor in the aircraft was held to blame for the incident and a runway controller also received some attention for not warning the pilot. The incident probably occurred at Driffield airfield where the unit was based although it also used Carnaby airfield as a relief landing ground. The 203 AFS record book scribe did a poor job of recording their flying accidents around this time in respect of identifying where each incident occurred.

Instructor - Name unknown.

Pupil - Name unknown.

Cat.4R damage was the initial damage assessment following this incident but it was later downgraded to Re.Cat.3R and a repair on site was made with it being returned to unit charge on 15th January 1951.
