On 24th November 1950 the pilot of this No.203 Advanced Flying School aircraft was one of at least two undertaking some form of training exercise and on the approach to land at Driffield the slipstream of the aircraft in front caused the pilot of WA625 to lose control while flying behind the first. The Meteor hit the ground short of the airfield, cartwheeled and broke up. The pilot appears to have escaped with only injuries. I have been unable to locate a newspaper report for this incident which may point to it occurring inside the airfield boundary.
