On 4th July 1950 Vampire VF270 of No.203 Advanced Flying School was being taxied to a dispersal point on the airfield when the brakes failed. Unfortunately the pilot was unable to prevent the Vampire colliding with a stationary Meteor VW455 that resulted in minor damage to both aircraft. VW455 had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it. The incident probably occurred at Driffield airfield where the unit was based, the aircraft was made servicable at Driffield by 60 M.U. in September 1950.
Pilot - Possibly none.
