On 6th November 1950 this aircraft had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it and at the time it was a No.226 Operational Conversion Unit aircraft based at Stradishall. On paper this sounds like a damage assessment made well outside Yorkshire, however, the 60 Maintenance Unit record book (air29/2039) lists all the aeroplanes that they were tasked with making servicable. For this aircraft it states that it was ready during the month of January 1951 and they repaired it at Driffield. How it came to require a repair is not yet clear and this may not have been down to any flying related incident. Once servicable it was then taken on charge by No.203 Advanced Flying School, also based at Driffield.
