On 6th June 1950 this No.66 Squadron aircraft was being flown on an aerobatics training flight when both engines went out over East Yorkshire. The pilot was unable to make his home airfield of Linton on Ouse so attempted a landing at Driffield but this ended in being a belly landing. This was the pilot's second incident in two months, he crash landed Meteor VW276 at Linton on Ouse on 3rd April 1950.
