On 3rd April 1950 the nosewheel of this No.66 Squadron aircraft jammed in the retracted position when the pilot attempted to lower the undercarriage on the approach to land at Linton on Ouse airfield. He made a landing on the main wheels only but eventually the aircraft settled on to it's nose and was damaged though was later repaired. This was the pilot's first incident in two months, he crash landed M eteor VW278 at Driffield on 6th June 1950. VW276 was repaired by 60 M.U. at Linton on Ouse and was servicable in November 1950.
