Vampire VF283 had a Cat.3R damage assessment made against it on 30th November 1950. The aircraft was on charge with No.203 Advanced Flying School and based at Driffield at the time so any damage resulting probably occurred there. What caused the damage is unclear though the unit record book states that only two flying accidents occurred during November 1950 and identifies both aircraft involved so it may have been related to a ground incident or an overstressing.
