On 1st September 1950 this Central Gunnery School aircraft was being taxied around Leconfield airfield when the tailwheel ran off the concrete, the oleo ran into soft grass and then caught on the edge of the concrete taxiway which tore the oleo assembly off. Damage to the tail resulted and with the Wellington type being old it does not appear to have been repaired.
