Harvard FX346, forced landed, location unknown.

The Flying Refresher School record book (AIR29/1809) gives basic information that on 15th June 1950 this aircraft was being flown with the instructor demonstrating making simulated forced landings. When the aircraft was a few hundred feet off the ground the aircraft began to vibrate and the engine lost power. As the aircraft was already low, the instructor carried out a forced landing in the nearest field possibly with the wheels up as the flaps, oil cooler and the propeller sustained damage. Where the forced landing occurred is not stated in the unit records though it was probably in the Finningley area as this was where the unit was based.
