Unidentified Wellington damaged in the air, landed at Finningley airfield.

The Flying Refresher School record book (AIR29/1809) gives basic information that on 20th October 1950 this aircraft was being flown on a training exercise that involved the pilot practicing making steep turns. During one of the turns and while flying at around 200 knots, the oil cooler air scoop from the port engine broke of, as it detached it struck and damaged the port tail plane. The pilot went on to land, almost certainly back at base of Finningley, though this is not stated in the unit records.
