Unidentified Harvard at Finningley airfield.

The Flying Refresher School record book (AIR29/1809) gives basic information that on 20th July 1950 this unidentified Harvard was flown on a day time circuits and landings training exercise. After one of the landings the engines stalled because the carburettor was flooded with fuel, the fuel then spilt into the air intake and the bottom engine cowling. The pilot attempted to restart the engine but a rich mixture caused a blow-back and a fire started in the air intake. The pilot then failed to operate the Graviner fire extinguisher system and this saw the fire spread to the engine bay before it was put out.
