I have very vague information from a secondary source (an old notebook) that on either 16th or 17th May 1950 a Meteor made a forced landing in a wheatfield in the Bridlington area. Given that No.203 Advanced Flying School were based at Driffield at the time and it was a real incident it may have been one of their aircraft but their record book unfortunately does not list any incident on this date. I have not located any other information. Local newspapers mention nothing.
This probably relates to the forced landing of Meteor WA680 near Carnaby two months later on 17th July 1950.
Pilot - Name unknown.
