On 28th November 1949 this No.203 Advanced Flying School aircraft overran the airfield at Driffield because of hydraulic failure and a lack of brakes. The damage was initially deemed repairable, then re-assessed as a write off, but then later repaired. The unit orb mentions that a Vampire Mk.I aircraft overshot the runway on landing during the month but does not give precise information. A court of inquiry was also conveened on 28th November 1949 that may relate to this same incident.
