Spitfire LF.XVI TE338 near Yeadon airfield.

On 30th January 1949 this 609 Squadron aircraft struck a telegraph pole on approach to land at Yeadon airfield, it was damaged though may have reached the airfield rather than crashing short of the runway. The damage was initially assessed as having sustained repairable Cat.B/FA damage but this was later upgraded to Re-Cat.E but was converted into Ground Instructional Airframe 6642M.
