Spitfire F.XVI TD319 at Leconfield airfield.

On 12th October 1949 this Central Gunnery School aircraft's undercarriage lever failed or broke when it was in the air. The pilot later made a belly landing on Leconfield airfield which badly damaged the aircraft. The No.60 Maintenance Unit record book states that they undertook salvage work on this aircraft during December 1949.
