The No.228 Operational Conversion Unit record book states that on 2nd September 1949 this aircraft struck the wheels on the runway while flying an overshoot of Leeming airfield. The undercarriage was damaged and while the pilot remained in control and got airborne again, he was left to make a wheels up landing later on the airfield. The damage was later repaired.
