The No.228 Operational Conversion Unit record book states that on 11th October 1949 this aircraft suffered a bird strike on take off from Leeming airfield. The aircraft sustained a damaged leading edge to one of the wings. Damage must have been very minor as the incident is not recorded on the aircraft's AM Form 78.
