Hornet F.1 PX277 at Church Fenton airfield.

On 11th January 1949 this 41 Squadron aircraft was struck by Hornet PX307 at Church Fenton airfield while it appears to have been sat parked and empty. PX277 was damaged and converted to Ground Instructional Airframe 6658M. The squadron records do not mention the incident but they do state that on this date the squadron undertook a practice interception exercise with USAF B.29s and also air to ground firing exercises on the Skipsea range
