My only information about this incident comes through historian Jim Rutland who states this incident occurred during an air show at Croft airfield on Saturday, 11th June 1949 when this 608 Squadron aircraft struck a car at Croft airfield. Minor damage resulted to the aircraft with the propeller being the main casualty. The incident is not mentioned in the squadron records but it does state a weekend camp was held over the 11th / 12th June 1949 and perhaps this incident was connected. 608 Squadron was based at Thornaby at the time.
