Tiger Moth T.2 NM118 near Church Fenton airfield.

Information on this incident is lacking and I have been unable to find any contemporary documentation to add to much older second hand information I have come across. Stated to have been on Saturday, 30th April 1949 this Leeds University Air Squadron aircraft struck a tree on the approach to land at Church Fenton some 300 yards from touching down and crashed. Unfortunately the unit ORB is missing for the first ten months of 1949 which may have yielded more information. The fate of the pilot is not known, I suspect he survived because fatal accidents tended to be recorded in the newspapers of the day.
