The No.1 (P)RFU record book (AIR29/1809) gives basic information that during the month of April 1949 this aircraft was being flown by a student pilot and on the approach to land at Finningley airfield the engine failed. He made a forced landing with the wheels lowered in a field around three hundred yards downwind of the runway and no damage resulted.
