On 2nd July 1949 the engine of this small aircraft failed soon after taking off from Croft airfield. The pilot attempted a forced landing a field just south of the airfield but the aircraft was slightly damaged. The aircraft was owned by the Darlington and District Aero Club Ltd at the time of this incident.
